What is SMPS and How does it’s work?

Published by ASHA CHAUHAN on

Do you know what SMPS is ? Electricity is much less than what we use in our home, like talking about TV, FRIDGE, IRON, OVEN, etc., they all use direct 220V-240V, but if this voltage we will give direct to the parts of the computer, then everything If it will burn, then how much power does the computer need, I will tell you today how the voltage is controlled inside the computer and who does it, so let's know what is SMPS.

WHAT IS SMPS ??

Full form of SMPS. Switch mode power supply This is an electronic device / circuit, To Fan. By the way, electricity goes from the Mother Board to different parts.

Now we know a little about its work, so when it is first given to the computer from the main power supply means the board of the house, then it first stays in the form of AC (Alternative CURRENT) after that when it is the SMPS of the AC computer. This SMPS converts it to DC, for this it uses Capacitor and DIODE's, with the help of Regulator it switches the switch sometimes ON and sometimes OFF means Switch Mode changes, sometimes DC to AC. It converts and sometimes AC into DC, hence its name is also called Switch Mode Power Supply. Now you must have known what is Switch Mode Power Supply.

HOW SMPS WORKS ?

SMPS

Now we know a little about its work, so when it is first given to the computer from the main power supply means the board of the house, then it first stays in the form of AC (Alternative CURRENT) after that when it is the SMPS of the AC computer. This SMPS converts it to DC, for this it uses Capacitor and DIODE’s, with the help of Regulator it switches the switch sometimes ON and sometimes OFF means Switch Mode changes, sometimes DC to AC. It converts and sometimes AC into DC, hence its name is also called Switch Mode Power Supply. Now you must have known what is Switch Mode Power Supply.

So first of all the supply that comes to the computer from the cable, then it first goes through the small device which is installed inside the SMPS, then first it goes to the AC filter, there in the process of filtering the AC Neutral and NTC, Fuse, Line Filter, PF Capacitor are used in the middle of the phase, its output is given to Rectifier and Filter, which converts it from AC to DC, which was Rectifier and which was the filter of two capacitors. With the help of Smooth DC, the output of this process is Pure DC and it was first given to the switching transistor. Here we use two NPN transistors which with the help of switching cycle then gives an AC output.

Talking about the PRIMARY CIRCUIT of SMPS, after this it is given once more to the Rectifier and Filter, which again converts this AC Supply to Smooth DC once more.

Note :- ( Remember one thing that the supply that comes from the transformer in the house is AC and the supply that comes to the battery is DC ). The output that comes out after this action is in three forms, one 12VOLT, 5 VOLT, 3 VOLT. This is the primary and secondary circuit of SMPS.
